Organisation register

Apply for a listing

The only route onto the organisation register. A listing is free, it records identity and stated role, and it is checked before it is published.

Before you start

A listing is free. No fee is charged to apply, to be listed, or to stay listed.

A listing is not membership, not verification, not accreditation and not an endorsement. It records identity and stated role, and nothing more.

Free does not mean automatic. The Association checks that the entity exists, that it is the entity that would actually contract, and that the role claimed is one it performs.

01 — What happens nextWhat happens after you apply

  1. You get a reference on screen. Keep it — it identifies the application in any correspondence.
  2. The Association acknowledges the application within three business days and decides it within twenty.
  3. It checks that the entity exists, that the entity named is the one that would actually contract, that the role claimed is one it performs, and that any registration a role requires is held or its absence is explained.
  4. If the listing is accepted it is published and you are told. If it is deferred or refused you are told why, and what would change the answer.

02 — Why it is checkedA free listing is still a checked listing

The register is only worth reading if a reader can rely on the entries meaning what they say. That is the whole product. An entry that records a trading name with no entity behind it, or a role the organisation does not perform, makes every other entry worth less — so the check is the point rather than an obstacle to it.

What is checked is identity and stated role, and nothing beyond that. It is not an assessment of how the organisation operates, the quality of its arrangements or whether anyone should deal with it. That is verification, which is a separate scheme with its own criteria, its own evidence and its own fee.

03 — The applicationApply

Everything marked required is needed to check the application. The contact details are not published — they are how we come back to you.

What the organisation does in a transaction

Pick every role it actually performs. This is what the entry records, and it is checked.

What it finances (optional)
The undertakings
  1. The organisation named is the entity that would contract with a lender, and the details given are accurate at the date of application.
  2. It accepts the code of conduct and the published standards, and will cooperate with any enquiry or complaint concerning it.
  3. It will not describe a listing as membership, verification, accreditation, approval or endorsement by the Association, in any material.
  4. It will tell the Association when anything in its entry changes, including a change of legal entity, role or registration.
  5. It accepts that the Association may decline, defer, suspend or withdraw a listing, and will publish the fact that it did.
