What this badge means

An individual who has joined the Association and committed to its code of conduct.

What it does not mean

A badge issued by the Association is a statement about a record it keeps, not a permission granted by anybody with authority to grant one.

The three things a badge can record

The constitution keeps membership, partnership and verification apart, and the badge programme mirrors that: there is no combined badge, and holding one says nothing about the other two. This badge records membership only.

  • Founding record. A factual record of who founded the Association and what position they hold, taken from its founding documents. Verification under the published standards is a separate assessment.
  • Membership. Records that the holder participates in the Association. It is a fact about a relationship, not an assessment, and it requires no evidence beyond the membership record itself.
  • Partnership. Records a disclosed commercial or supporting relationship with the Association. It is the one badge that money is involved in, which is exactly why it may never be displayed in a way that reads as approval.
  • Verification. Records that an assessment against the published standards was completed, and what it found. It rests on evidence, it expires, and it is the one the Association will withdraw.

Disclosed connection

How to display it

Wherever the badge goes, it must link back to this page, and the image must load from this domain rather than be saved and re-uploaded. Both are display rules, and both exist for the same reason: a withdrawn badge then stops appearing everywhere at once, and any reader can check what it actually records.

In an email signature

The commonest place a badge ends up, so it comes first. Use the PNG here — mail clients do not reliably render SVG, and Gmail in particular will rasterise it badly. The file is three times its display size so it stays sharp on a high-resolution screen.

If your mail client has no HTML view, open the PNG, copy the image, paste it into the signature box, and set the size to roughly 360 px wide. Copying the image rather than inserting it by URL is what keeps it sharp: the client then downsamples the full-resolution file instead of stretching a small one.

Use the SVG. It scales to any screen, weighs about two kilobytes, and the padding below is the clear space the mark requires.

What not to do

Do not place it in a row of partner or accreditation logos, do not make it larger than your own logo, and do not put it beside a product, a price or a rate of return. It records a finding about an organisation, not an endorsement of anything that organisation sells.

If this badge is being displayed wrongly

If you have seen this badge used to suggest a guaranteed return, regulatory approval, or anything the record above does not support — or if it appears on a site whose holder is not Noel Fisher — tell the Association. Misuse is a ground for withdrawal, and a withdrawn badge stops displaying wherever it is embedded from this domain.
